Angela Wilson, the daughter of Chris and Ann Wilson, died suddenly this past Wednesday, January 10. What makes this so much more difficult to accept was that she was so young. The news came as a shock and was surreal.
This happened less than a year following the sudden death of Maureen Normil. Angela had been in attendance at Maureen’s funeral. And Angela’s parents performed musically at Maureen’s funeral. Could they have imagined experiencing the same tragedy just months later? Both these women were prominently known in the church I had attended for the past twenty two years. Lakeshore has been dealt two heavy blows in such a short period.
It is a reminder that life is fragile and that no one knows when their time will come up. And though I’m not completely sure whether or not her death has a purpose, there is still a lesson for all of us to learn.
I knew Angela as a young girl at Lakeshore Church. My impression of her at the time wasn’t all that good. She was pretty feisty and could give you a pretty good bruising if she felt like it.
I also remember her later in life having an unbelievably gorgeous singing voice. I’m sure that everyone that knew her encouraged her to express that gift, but I rarely heard her use it besides the few holiday choral performances she participated in.
We hung out with mutual friends, mostly at our friend Tammy and Ross’ house. She had matured and stop hitting me. She turned out to be a pretty cool girl.
In the past few years, I would see her at church or some other location, but it seemed that she didn’t recognize me. Maybe she didn’t want to. But that doesn’t matter. What matters is that her family and friends are now feeling the huge hole that she left behind. It is still hard for me to fathom the fact that she’s gone.
I pray for nothing but comfort for her family and loved ones as they go through the process of mourning her departure. They can take comfort that she is indeed in a better place now. This is the hope of those who believe in God’s promise.
Angela, we already miss you. Goodbye.
What happened to her?

I am from the West Island (Pierrefonds) originally, now living in Edmonton, AB. the past 8 years but still an avid reader of the Gazette and the obits. I was looking at all the memoriums in the Guest Book for Angela. She was obviously very loved and was just wondering what happened to her on that fateful day, January 10, 2007. Kathleen

In respect towards Angela’s parents, I did not ask for details in order not to make them relive the event, but she had been quite sick with some bug and there was speculation that she had injured herself alone in her apartment. I can’t verify the details, but it was likely a very tragic accident. Thank you for expressing your concern and apologies for the delay in responding.
